Guernsey-based leadership consultancy, Leaders, has published its first official book to help senior leadership teams better understand what it takes to lead with moral courage, authentic trust and a living legacy mindset.
The book, authored by Founder, Phil Eyre, and leadership directors Kareena Hodgson and Nicole Le Goupillot, is designed to elevate a leader’s impact, challenge their perspectives and help propel them to excellence.
The team celebrated the book’s launch by hosting a private event at St James on Wednesday 8th November.
Nicole said: “The idea of writing a book was the result of a really great team brainstorm, plenty of coffee and a burst of energy. We realised that we could create something really helpful, drawing on our ideas, experiences and network. As a bi-product, it’s proven a neat way to put our own values into practice, working together to finesse the ideas and hit the necessary timelines.”
“I’m thrilled to be able to create a legacy piece for Leaders,” said Phil. “I started this business seven years ago with a vision to support and challenge leaders in any setting to create excellent workplaces. It’s great to reflect that we’ve established a fantastic team, expanded our reach and are now working with brilliant clients across the Channel Islands and UK, it felt like the right time to put our ideas down on paper.”
Leaders help CEOs and senior leadership teams in Guernsey, Jersey and the UK to make courageous decisions that are implemented with compassion, wisdom, integrity and humility. The team are human data experts who use world-leading behavioural and motivational techniques allowing them to identify someone’s particular strengths, blind spots and potential hurdles to success.
The book focuses on how to equip leaders in any setting to create and foster healthy, high-performing, enjoyable workplaces and mentor the human factors that constitute excellent leadership.
The book has been reviewed by influential leaders such as Dame Mary and Doug Perkins, founders of Specsavers and Gill Palfrey-Hill, Director at Costa Coffee.
“Based on practical and new research examples, this [book] provides a comprehensive and serious rule book of proven success stories that I fully endorse from my 40 years of experience,” said Dame Mary & Doug Perkins.
The book helps leaders learn how to optimise their unique talents, enhance interactions, harness positive motivation, overcome hurdles and create a greater impact. It also includes forewords from Major General Patrick Marriot CB CBE DL; Matt Bird, Business and Social Entrepreneur and Sarah Gillard, CEO of A Blueprint for a Better Business.
Phil added: “At the heart of our approach is a genuine relationship with our clients. As is the case for any leader, it’s the strength of our relationships that matters the most. Our aim as a team is to spark the motivation and ideas that propel our clients to do something different and better. We hope that anyone who reads our book will take away at least one practical idea that will help them make an even better impact with their people.”
