Carey Olsen has advised Genius Sports Limited on its acquisition of Legend, a global sports and gaming media network, in a transaction valued at up to $1.2bn.
Genius Sports is the official data, technology and broadcast partner that powers the global sports, betting and media ecosystem. Legend is a global digital sports media business which monetises sports audiences through a scaled media network, with world-class marketing technology powering owned and operated digital properties.
The Carey Olsen team acted on Guernsey and Jersey aspects of the transaction, working closely with lead transaction counsel Macfarlanes. The firm provided specialist local law M&A, financing, employment and data protection advice.
The transaction is expected to complete in Q2 2026.
