Senior Business Risk and Internal Control Manager
Skipton International has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Risk and Internal Control Manager to join out Operations team.
The role holder will play a pivotal part in the implementation, embedding and ongoing oversight of the risk management framework and will take the lead on all first line risk matters.
Key Accountabilities
Risk Management Framework
- Responsible for the successful implementation of the Risk Management Framework across all areas of the SIL operations, including the identification, assessment, mitigation and ongoing monitoring of both non-financial and financial risks
Financial Crime Risk
- Lead the first line financial crime team to deliver best in class financial crime risk management. Including:
- First line QA of customers onboarding to SIL
- Periodic reviews including relevant Trigger Event processes.
- Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening
Third Party Risk Management
- Oversee the effective operation of the Third-Party Risk Management Framework, ensuring that all relationships are managed in line with framework expectations
Risk Culture
- Responsible for developing a positive risk culture for the organisation, ensuring that colleagues engage with risk frameworks at all levels and understand that risk management is the responsibility of all
Governance
- Work alongside the Company Secretary responsible for the design and implementation of Governance Frameworks across the organisation, supporting an annual review of meeting effectiveness across the business
Leadership and Engagement
Role will have overall management responsibility for first line risk and governance team which will include senior reports. Responsibilities include:
- Setting clear team objectives and ensuring there is a robust performance management framework in place
- Commit to the personal development of team members
- Sponsor and role model expected values and behaviours and challenge examples of unacceptable behaviour
General
- Adhere to CPD (Continued Professional Development) requirements in accordance with qualification level and in-house procedures.
- Adhere to the Skipton International core values and expected behaviours.
- Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Key Requirements
- Minimum Degree or equivalent experience
- Preference for an industry recognised relevant professional qualification. Eg IRM, ICA
- Communication – ability to communicate complex or new concepts/ideas in a way that audience can understand and engage with
- Knowledge of; Risk Management Frameworks; Risk Management Processes; Three lines of defence model; Non-Financial and Financial Risk Management
