HSBC has enhanced its existing partnership with The Prince’s Trust beyond funding, which it has done for the last two years, by launching an employee volunteer programme to further support young people in the Channel Islands.
A team of over 45 volunteers from the Bank has received bespoke training from the Prince’s Trust in order to support young people who are participating on their Achieve Programme across Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney. The volunteers will run a series of workshops to mentor young people in CV writing, workplace readiness, communication skills, money management, teamwork and enterprise skills.
The Prince’s Trust Achieve Programme is a personal development course run in the Channel Islands by the Jersey Youth Service and the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney for 14 to 16-year-olds. It supports approximately 100 young people each year with their educational achievement through a practical approach to learning, helping to build their confidence and fulfil their potential, while preparing themselves for the world of work.

The Bank now providing programme volunteers will add so much value to the support we are able to offer young people in terms of role models, skills, knowledge and experience. We are incredibly grateful for HSBC’s support, without which, we would not be able to deliver this programme.”
