Channel Eye has joined forces with Royston Guest, leading Business Growth Coach and CEO/Founder of Pathways Global, in our column, ‘Ask the Business Coach’

We live in a VUCA world – volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous – and it takes a fresh leadership approach to achieve positive results under such circumstances.

Episode three of this four-part series covers a further 2 of the seven leadership principles to help you lead in a VUCA world.

Click here if you missed the first part of this ‘VUCA’ series.

Business Growth Pathways logoThe big three takeaways!

  1. VUCA world – volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous.
  2. Businesses don’t grow on their own; leaders grow businesses.
  3. A leader’s personal growth must stay ahead of the growth aspirations of the business.

Episode timestamps

  • [1.01] The challenge for business leaders is that sometimes if the business is flatlining or not fulfilling its potential, the blocker could be the leader leading the business. They are holding the business back and, more often than not, without realising it.
  • [1.34] All leaders should have a thirst for learning to stay ahead of the business’s growth ambitions. Become comfortable with the uncomfortable; have a growth mindset, not a closed one.
  • [3.05] You don’t just get paid to do; you get paid to think. Create the headspace to think and be creative. Thinking time will give you the space to identify solutions to your challenges and seek new opportunities.
  • [4.00} Simplicity is genius. We have an innate ability to make something simple into something complex by over-engineering. As a leader, seek out simplicity in your business.

Join us in two weeks time for part four of this feature.
