Andrew Videgrain is fighting to raise £11,000 for children’s charity, Variety

Andrew Vidigrain is on his way to raising £11,000 for children’s charity Variety.

Andrew’s progress towards his total has been helped by raising £1,000 through the sale of a signed framed Ronaldo shirt at the Variety Annual Golf Day, as well as a recent sponsored White Collar boxing match which resulted in a draw.

Andrew admits that signing up for the White Collar boxing took him outside his comfort zone, but his goal to raise monies for Variety Jersey had a welcome side-effect that saw him lose 15kg after committing to a strict four month training schedule.

Andrew said: “The journey I went on was mentally and physically challenging but rewarding. The money raised will be used for children and their families this Christmas, helping to buy approximately 200 presents for children that won’t be expecting a big present this Christmas.

“We are also going to be buying sixty £50 meat vouchers for families that would struggle to afford food for Christmas lunch.

“I would like to thank all the kind people and businesses who have sponsored me, notably Mitchell Builders, AP construction, DIS Electrical, SCS and Matt properties. John at Bambola has been extremely helpful in selecting presents for us to buy for the children and Sharon at Sylvia’s butchers in the market has been brilliant in sorting the family vouchers as well.

“A lot of people in Jersey don’t realize the poverty and hardship that we have on the Island. So, anything we can do to reduce this is such a great and worthy cause”
