The Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has launched its inaugural Favourite Animal Moments Photo Competition, inviting Islanders of all ages to submit photographs celebrating the bond between animals and people in Jersey.
Open to Jersey residents aged five and over, the competition, themed ‘Jersey’s Favourite Animal Moments’, encourages entrants to capture pets, wildlife, farm animals and rescue animals in their natural moments. Winning photographs will be featured in the official JSPCA Calendar 2027, with all proceeds supporting animal welfare services across the Island.
The competition includes four age categories:
- Little Paws Photographer (Ages 5 to 8)
- Young Animal Photographer (Ages 9 to 12)
- Teen Photographer (Ages 13 to 17)
- Adult Photographer (Age 18+)
The winning images will feature in the 2027 JSPCA Calendar, with photographers receiving recognition for their work while helping support the charity’s vital animal welfare services.
Pam Aubert, Chief Executive of the JSPCA, said: “We are incredibly excited to launch our inaugural Animal Moments Photo Competition. Jersey is home to so many talented photographers and, of course, amazing animals. Whether you’re taking a photo on your phone while walking your dog or capturing a stunning wildlife moment, we’d love to see your favourite animal photographs. We hope this competition becomes something Islanders look forward to every year as we celebrate the animals that enrich all of our lives.”
The competition has been made possible through the generous sponsorship of Islands Insurance, whose support has enabled the JSPCA to offer free entry to everyone.
Adam Heath, Chief Customer Officer at Islands Insurance, said: “Islands Insurance Group is proud of its charitable partnership with the JSPCA and is delighted to sponsor the inaugural Animal Moments Calendar Competition. We hope it generates much needed funds to support the fantastic work of the JSPCA for the people and pets of Jersey.”
