The firm also maintained its market-leading individual rankings with Carlos de Serpa Pimentel retaining Band 1 status in the Cayman Islands as well as a ‘Foreign Expertise based abroad in Cayman Islands Spotlight’ in the British Virgin Islands, and Mark Holligon remaining at Band 1 in the Isle of Man. In Jersey, David Dorgan, Fraser Robertson and Sam Williams all retained their Band 2 rankings.

In the Bermuda office, Claire van Overdijk KC (Band 2) is recognised for having “a razor-sharp mind, thinks outside the box and has great strategic insight into cases which have cross-border elements”, with others describing her as “very knowledgeable in her field”.

Carlos de Serpa Pimentel (Band 1) in the Cayman Islands office is described as “among the best in Cayman”, while others reference him as “the go-to referral practitioner in Cayman Islands” and “universally respected among those of us who practice in the same areas.”

In the Isle of Man office, Mark Holligon (Band 1) is considered by clients as “pre-eminent in the market.” Erin Trimble-Cregeen (Band 2) was described as “extremely knowledgeable and consistently calm under pressure.” “Her composed manner and clarity of communication inspired confidence at every stage of the proceedings.” Melissa Wong (Star Associate) is considered “brilliant” for her work handling complex and technical estates with ease and efficiency. She has also been described as “friendly and easy to deal with”.

David Dorgan (Band 2) from the Jersey office is considered “pragmatic, very proactive and very astute at what he does.” Meanwhile, Michael Davies (Associates to watch) is described as “an excellent and responsive associate who is firmly establishing himself as the go-to associate for trust matters.”

Commenting on the recognition, Malcolm Moller, Appleby’s Group Managing Partner, said: “This year’s results are a strong endorsement of the quality of our people and the trust our clients place in us across the world’s leading offshore jurisdictions. We are particularly proud to see Jersey and Guernsey secure their first departmental rankings, alongside the continued success of our established teams in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and the Isle of Man. These results highlight the depth of talent across our global Private Client & Trusts practice and reinforce Appleby’s position as one of the offshore market’s leading advisers to private clients, trustees and family offices.”

Carlos de Serpa Pimentel, Practice Group Head of Private Client & Trusts, added: ” The Chambers High Net Worth rankings are particularly meaningful because they are driven by client and market feedback. To see our practice continue to strengthen across multiple jurisdictions is a tremendous achievement. It reflects the exceptional calibre of our team, our collaborative approach across offices, and our commitment to helping clients navigate increasingly complex private wealth, trust and succession matters. We are grateful to our clients and peers for their continued confidence and support.”
