The Jersey Association for Youth & Friendship has appointed Suzanne Day as it’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Suzanne (pictured) brings extensive experience from both the third sector and education, having led services that support individuals facing complex barriers. In her new role, Suzanne will work closely with the Jersey Association for Youth & Friendship (JAYF) Committee and experienced team to deliver the organisation’s ambitious five-year strategy, focused on providing safe, affordable and stable accommodation for young people in Jersey.
JAYF’s vision is to see the elimination of youth homelessness in Jersey. The charity has recently been approved as a referring agency to Andium Homes’ Partnership Pathway, strengthening opportunities for young people to access long-term housing and achieve greater independence.
Commenting on her appointment and JAYF’s new role in the Partnership Pathway, Suzanne Day said: “I’m thrilled to be joining JAYF at such an important time for young people in Jersey. We are delighted to work alongside Andium to help ensure young people have the opportunity to move into a home of their own. Living independently for the first time can bring new challenges. Through this partnership, JAYF will be able to keep supporting young people who have lived with us as they settle into their own home and thrive.”
Welcoming Suzanne to the organisation, JAYF’s Chair, Hilary Jeune, said: “I am delighted to welcome Suzanne as our new Chief Executive. At JAYF, we give young people a safe and stable home. That stability builds the skills and confidence they need to feel ready for a home of their own. Through Andium’s Partnership Pathway, they now have a clear route to longer-term housing, with JAYF still there to support them. I’d also like to thank our team for keeping that support steady through this period of change.”
