Jersey Community Foundation is inviting applications to Kezia’s Fund.
The fund is a dedicated grant programme supporting mental health and wellbeing initiatives for children and young people in Jersey. The fund is now open for applications, with a closing date of 29th March.
Kezia’s Fund aims to:
- increase and improve mental health and wellbeing provision for children and young people
- empower young people to develop their own initiatives to improve mental health outcomes
- enable young people to play an active role in designing and delivering mental health-related activities within their communities
The fund supports a wide range of activity, including preventative work, early intervention, peer support, creative and therapeutic approaches, and youth-led projects. Applications are welcomed from charities, community groups and voluntary organisations, including those that are not registered charities.
Since its launch, Kezia’s Fund has supported a range of impactful local projects, including:
- £20,000 to Mind Jersey to support Youthful Minds, including the Youthful Minds participation group
- £4,000 to Jersey Youth Trust to support young parents
- Over £10,000 to Healing Waves to fund two seasonal support workers
- Almost £6,000 to Jersey Action Against Rape to promote a new counselling service for young people
Anna Terry, CEO of Jersey Community Foundation, said: “We know that young people’s mental health continues to be a priority across the Island. Kezia’s Fund exists to support practical, community-based solutions and, importantly, to give young people a voice in shaping the support that’s available to them. We would strongly encourage organisations working in this space to consider applying.”
