Saffery Trust has published its first Responsible Business Report, bringing together the Group’s responsible business activity across its offices in Guernsey, Switzerland, Dubai, and the Cayman Islands.
Over the reporting year, the firm launched a new corporate social responsibility strategy shaped by staff feedback, which led to a doubling of its charitable budget and the introduction of a quarterly fundraising scheme to support locally chosen charities. The business strengthened its wellbeing focus through partnerships with organisations such as Guernsey Mind, complemented by a range of wellbeing initiatives tailored to each office.
The report also details continued investment in sustainability, most notably the completion of an ESG Maturity Assessment in Switzerland and the introduction of Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon measurement in Guernsey through Future Tracker. Environmental efforts across the Group continued to grow, with initiatives including the Cycle2Work programme in Guernsey providing interest-free loans to staff to purchase bikes at a discounted rate, annual tree planting in Geneva, and beach cleaning projects in Cayman.
Saffery Trust’s longstanding community support also featured strongly in the reporting period. The firm maintained its role as lead sponsor of the Saffery Rotary Walk, one of Guernsey’s largest annual fundraising events, helping to ensure that all money raised goes directly to local charities. Across all jurisdictions, staff engagement continued to grow through volunteering, staff sponsorships, and wider community partnerships that reflect the firm’s values.
The report also sets out the next steps in the firm’s responsible business journey, including undertaking a Double Materiality Assessment across Guernsey, Switzerland, and Cayman in 2026. This assessment will help strengthen the firm’s evidence base and further refine its long-term sustainability strategy.
