Appleby has once again been recognised across the Crown Dependencies in the 2026 edition of The Legal 500 UK, with the Group praised for its “client-centric, responsive service and superb technical knowledge”.

The firm continues to hold Tier One status in all nine categories in the Isle of Man (Banking, Finance and Capital Markets; Commercial Property; Corporate and Commercial; Dispute Resolution; Employment; Gambling; Insurance and Pensions; Private Client, Trusts and Tax; and Shipping and Aviation), alongside three in Guernsey (Banking and Finance; Employment; and Regulatory and White-Collar Crime) and one in Jersey (Employment).

The firm also achieved upward movement in several areas, including Dispute Resolution in both Guernsey and Jersey.

Feedback from clients continues to highlight Appleby’s strengths across practice areas. In Guernsey the top-ranked Banking and Finance team are described as having “an unrivalled international offshore network” and “a team I have instructed for the last 12 years for Guernsey-related matters, including some of the highest value and most complex fund finance matters in Europe”. The Guernsey Regulatory and White-Collar Crime team, which is also ranked Tier One, is recognised as “a cut above those offering the same advice” and having a “market leading regulatory team, with strength and depth”. The Dispute Resolution team is praised for “combining jurisdictional leading advice with practical knowhow and commercial acumen. Their breadth of experience is extremely wide, such that they are the first people we think of contacting when issues arise”.

Highlights in client feedback saw the Isle of Man Dispute Resolution practice described as “essentially, the leading disputes team on the island” as well as an “established & loyal team, bringing a breadth of experience in their field”. Further industry commentary saw the office’s Corporate team praised for doing an “excellent job in ensuring all role-players stayed fully informed” and in particular, that their Banking and Finance team “operate to incredibly high standards… and know how to walk in our shoes and deliver a best in class IoM legal service”.

In Jersey, the Employment team retained its Tier One position. Client feedback highlights the team as “wholly professional but open and friendly in approach”, with praise for taking the time to explain the differences between UK and Jersey law and providing clear guidance on how best to manage matters.
