Local adventurer Peter Wright, CFO of Prosperity 24/7, is gearing up for one of the toughest endurance feats imaginable: completing seven full Ironman triathlons in seven consecutive days.
The gruelling ‘Island Man x 7 Challenge’ will take place from Friday, 3rd October to Thursday, 9th October, with Peter swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles, and running 26.2 miles every single day.
The event is set against the backdrop of Jersey, with swims taking place at the Aquasplash pool, cycling routes winding through the Island’s lanes, and marathon runs along The Avenue. Peter’s goal is not only to test his own physical and mental limits but to raise vital funds for four local charities:
- CLIC Sargent
- Kezia’s Fund
- Lily’s Fund
- The LouLou Sporting Foundation
At 52, Peter has built a reputation as an ‘accidental adventurer,’ having spent the past 12 years taking on extraordinary challenges. He recently co-authored a book with his brother, A Mid-Life Less Ordinary (Pitch Publishing), chronicling their adventures.
“This challenge has been on my mind since just after Covid,” Peter explained. “The Atlantic row came first, but now it’s time to revisit this goal. People may think I’m too old, but while age may slow the body, it doesn’t have to slow your desire to live your best life.”
Training for the Island Man x 7 Challenge has been a monumental effort, supported by personal trainer Andy Glover, Ironman coach Chris Stephens, and the Jersey Sports and Spinal Clinic.
“I’m passionate about fundraising in our community and want to make a difference with every challenge I take on,” Peter said.
A host of local businesses have stepped forward to sponsor the event, including Prosperity 24/7, Rossborough Insurance, KPMG, Boston Family Office, Big Maggys, The Cycle Centre, Aquasplash, and the Radisson Blu Hotel.
