The team at Deloitte in Jersey recently donated £1,030 to local charity ‘Every Child Our Future’ who aim to give every child in Jersey the best possible education.
Every Child Our Future is Deloitte’s 5 Million Future (5MF) charity partner.
5MF is Deloitte’s social impact strategy that is part of their global WorldClass ambition to reach 100 million people by 2030 through volunteering and fundraising, to overcome barriers to education and employment.
The charity is using part of the money to give fifty children at Janvrin School a maths themed workbook that includes fun maths activities and games that the children can use in school and at home.
This donation is the latest one that the firm has made since they started supporting the charity in May 2019.
Cris Lakeman, Chief Executive at Every Child Our Future said: “Every Child Our Future is delighted to have been able to establish a new programme to support early mathematical learning. The resources that Deloitte have funded will enable us to support schools, children, and their families, by providing workbooks and the resources needed to play some fun and engaging mathematical games. The games reinforce early mathematical concepts which lay the foundations for future learning. In addition, we are providing some storybooks that explore mathematical themes. Our thanks go to the employees of Deloitte for making this happen.”
