Every Child Our Future has announced the launch of its third Story Trail, at Millennium Park.
This exciting new trail will initially feature Superworm, the much-loved children’s book by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Families will be able to follow the story page by page on permanent display boards installed along the park pathway, combining outdoor activity with the joy of reading together.
The Story Trail initiative is designed to inspire children to engage with books while enjoying the outdoors. Each trail features a new book every few weeks, ensuring families always have something fresh and engaging to experience.
This latest installation is generously supported by The Bosdet Foundation, whose commitment to community and education has made the project possible. Baker and Partners have also sponsored 100 books which have been given to children in nearby nurseries.
Every Child Our Future has collaborated with Infrastructure and Environment to make this initiative possible in Howard Davis, Millbrook and now Millennium Park.
Emma Firth, Programme Manager at Every Child Our Future, said: “We’re thrilled to open the third Story Trail at Millennium Park during the Jersey Festival of Words. Using a much-loved story like Superworm in such a family-friendly space gives children a fun and memorable way to connect with books, while encouraging outdoor exploration and shared experiences.”
Festival Director Pippa Les Quesne added: “The Festival of Words is all about celebrating stories in every form. The Story Trail is a wonderful way of taking stories out of books and into the community, helping children and families enjoy literature in an interactive and playful way.”
