Deloitte has announced two senior promotions in its Channel Islands tax team.
In Guernsey, Martin Popplewell (pictured) has been promoted to partner, while in Jersey, Andrew Pitcher has risen to director.
Martin relocated from Deloitte in Leeds to Guernsey in 2010, joining the Guernsey team as a tax manager. Subsequently, he progressed to associate director and director before becoming partner in this round of promotions. He has over 21 years of experience and has developed specialist knowledge in FATCA and Common Reporting Standard and, Economic Substance with a focus on compliance and tax reporting. He works extensively with corporate service providers and client structures across both Guernsey and Jersey.
He also contributes widely to the Channel Islands practice, participating in local government working groups, sitting on the GSCCA tax sub-committee, and leading on some of Deloitte’s local sponsorship initiatives.

Andrew Pitcher joined the Jersey tax team as a graduate in 2014 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2017. He has since built a successful UK Real Estate Tax compliance practice, serving some of the firm’s largest and most prestigious clients.
Andrew has also been instrumental in supporting the careers of many of Deloitte’s most accomplished Real Estate tax practitioners, both in Jersey and across the UK.
Jo Huxtable, tax partner at Deloitte in the Channel Islands, said: “Congratulations to Martin and Andrew for reaching significant new milestones in their careers at Deloitte. These promotions reflect not only individual excellence, but their tangible impact on the firm, our clients, and the wider community.
