NatWest International is investing over £1m into its High Street branch in Guernsey, to improve its banking facilities for their customers. This week the plans were submitted to the States of Guernsey and work on the branch is due to start in October, subject to Planning approval.

The new branch design will allow customers to choose how they bank; from using the express wall, fitted with time saving new ways to bank, to the new iPad station where customers can access their online banking. Customers will also be able to go to the counter and talk to a cashier or make an appointment with one of the bank’s Customer Service Officers if they need help.

As part of the transformation, the bank is introducing a number of customer improvements including the latest cash machines and a Coin-In service which allows customers to quickly count coins and deposit them free of charge without the need to bag them. There’ll also be a business bag drop where business customers can drop off deposit bags quickly and easily.  All the new features are designed to reduce queuing and waiting time for customers. The new branch will also feature large scale photos of Guernsey, showcasing the natural beauty of the island.

To minimise disruption, the High Street branch will stay open throughout the transformation and there’ll be no changes to the exterior of the branch. The work is due to be complete by the end of November and there’ll be a re-launch event in December.

Alan Weir, Head of Retail Banking commented:

“We’re excited to bring our new branch design to Guernsey and when it’s complete it’ll be easier for us to connect with our customers. We’re adapting to ever changing banking needs to offer more convenient ways to bank whilst retaining the opportunity of speaking to one of our team for more complex matters.”
