KPMG has been celebrating 40 years in the Isle of Man, since its establishment in the island in 1983.
During this time, KPMG has played an important role in the Isle of Man’s business community – providing innovative and insightful services to local and international clients across a wide range of sectors including financial and professional services, real estate, eGaming, technology, and government.
The firm has also supported hundreds of Isle of Man students to achieve professional qualifications and pursue their careers locally and further afield. At present more than half of the KPMG Isle of Man leadership team trained with the firm locally, which is a testament to KPMG’s continued commitment to developing local talent and leaders.
Being involved in the local community has always been integral to the firm’s culture, and KPMG has done this in a number of ways in recent years. The firm has partnered with the Manx Wildlife Trust to support their seagrass restoration project – as part of KPMG’s ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
In 2022, KPMG staff raised more than £15,000 for the firm’s chosen charity of the year, Project 21, by organising cake sales and fun runs and participating in the island’s annual Prom Relay. This popular annual event continues to be a key fixture on the firm’s fundraising calendar, with the recent 2023 Prom Relay raising more than £12,000 for Live at Home, the latest charity nominated by the office’s 150 strong workforce.
“We are excited to be celebrating 40 years of operating in the Isle of Man”, said Russell Kelly, Managing Partner at KPMG in the Isle of Man. “Our success over the past four decades is a testament to our commitment in delivering the highest quality services to our clients and our dedication to the local community.”
To mark this significant milestone, KPMG hosted its anniversary party at the Claremont Hotel and will continue to host initiatives throughout the year. These include client and staff events and community outreach programmes, all aimed at celebrating the firm’s long-lasting relationship with the island and its people over the past 40 years.
“KPMG in the Isle of Man has always been proactive in supporting the growth and development of the island’s economy, and we are honoured to have played a role in shaping the Isle of Man’s landscape since 1983,” said Russell. “We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our clients, colleagues, and the wider community and to continue building on our legacy for many years to come.”
