Guernsey Electricity launches ‘Powering Life for Less’ winter campaign
Share on LinkedInTwitterFacebookEmail

Guernsey Electricity is inviting local households to take part in a two-week challenge designed to help all Islanders save energy and ultimately money off their electricity bills.

The initiative forms part of the company’s seasonal campaign to encourage Islanders to manage their energy consumption this winter. Participating households will be filmed as they are given simple and practical changes to follow and will get to try and keep a range of energy saving devices. At the end of the two week period, Guernsey Electricity will reveal how much has been saved and discuss the impact of the households changing habits going forward.

Steven Parks, Head of Customer Experience at Guernsey Electricity, said: “Powering Life for Less is a community initiative and in these challenging times for everyone, we understand that all of us want to make our money go further.

“By empowering consumers to make changes for the better, it will reduce their expenditure and also help us to manage peak load at the power station this winter. Together we can make a huge difference.”

To apply, Islanders can visit Challenge Guernsey Electricity and complete the application form. Participants are asked to submit a short video, introducing themselves and their home electricity, along with why they believe they should be selected. The deadline for applications is 21 October.

Mr Parks added: “We hope this challenge will be fun and also something a little different. By providing practical and easy tips and advice, we want people to have a go at the challenge themselves and see what they too could save.”
