The Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) will be hosting its first virtual careers fair on Tuesday 20th April and Thursday 22nd April.
The fair will offer an opportunity to learn more about what it’s like to work at the regulator and hear first-hand from staff about the opportunities on offer.
Jill Britton (shown in the main picture), the JFSC’s Director of Supervision, who is spearheading the regulator’s new people and culture strategy, told Channel Eye: “The way we are all working has changed so much in the past year. As an organisation, we’ve adapted and understand that people now want greater flexibility. Our fair is open to anyone whether they’re looking to switch careers, move to part-time or flexible working, or perhaps are just starting out on their career journey. Whatever the case, we may have a role that suits them. Our previous careers fairs have proven popular and led to recruits progressing to become senior members of staff.
“We hope the move to digital will encourage more people to join us and learn about the exciting opportunities we have at the moment.”
Amanda Reilly, Head of Examinations, who joined the regulator after attending a JFSC careers fair, added: “I went to a JFSC careers fair and was so impressed by what I heard that I applied for a role. In an extremely supportive environment, I have worked hard to develop my knowledge and skills and have subsequently progressed to become a member of the senior leadership team. I am really proud to work at the JFSC; every day is different and, although the work is challenging, it continually provides me with a sense of achievement and purpose.”
For its first virtual careers fair, the JFSC is offering prospective candidates the choice of two 45 minute sessions over a lunchtime and early evening to allow them to choose a date and time that suits them.
Attendees can expect to take part in interactive speed networking sessions, meeting members of staff from across the JFSC to learn about working for the regulator and the current vacancies on offer, which range from openings on the graduate programme to brand new roles.
