The event is a running race with a difference and will take runners on a challenging adventure, which includes going through the Ronez Quarry site. Competitors will make their way down into the ‘The Pit’ 28 metres below sea level before navigating their way back out around the gigantic Ronez machinery and equipment to reach the panoramic views of the north coast of Jersey at the finish. The course itself has a total elevation of 130 metres.

The Wetwheels Jersey True Grit Challenge has been created to raise funds and awareness for the local charity, Wetwheels Jersey. Wetwheels Jersey provides the opportunity for all disabled people, including those with profound and complex disabilities, to access the sea in a safe, stimulating and rewarding way on board a specially built, fully accessible powerboat.

Carey Olsen corporate partner James Mulholland said the firm was proud to be a sponsor of the event.

“The Wetwheels Jersey True Grit Challenge is a unique and exciting event and one that we’re delighted to be supporting as a firm, particularly as the money raised goes to such a fantastic local charity providing sunshine during tough times to many people, most of whom would never have the opportunity to experience our beautiful waters and marine life”.

The challenge has been adapted in order to ensure it meets the latest Government of Jersey’s Level 1 guidelines, including capping the number of runners.
