The Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has picked the winners of its inaugural Favourite Animal Moments Photo Competition.
The competition invited Islanders of all ages to submit photographs celebrating the special bond between animals and people in Jersey.
Open to Jersey residents aged five and over, the competition, themed ‘Jersey’s Favourite Animal Moments’, encouraged entrants to capture pets, wildlife, farm animals and rescue animals in their natural moments. Winning photographs will be featured in the official JSPCA Calendar 2027, with all proceeds supporting animal welfare services across the Island.
The winners of each category are:
- Little Paws Photographer (Ages 5 to 8) Tina Lihou
- Young Animal Photographer (Ages 9 to 12) Eliza Scott
- Teen Photographer (Ages 13 to 17) Nathan Blay
- Adult Photographer/ Overall Winner (Age 18+) Hannah Saxby (Main picture)

Pam Aubert, Chief Executive of the JSPCA, said: “We are over the moon with the response to our inaugural Animal Moments Photo Competition. Jersey is home to so many talented photographers and, of course, amazing animals and the entries we received really proved this. We plan for this competition to become something Islanders look forward to every year as we celebrate the animals that enrich all of our lives.”
The competition has been made possible through the generous sponsorship of Islands Insurance, whose support has enabled the JSPCA to offer free entry to everyone.
Adam Heath, Chief Customer Officer at Islands Insurance and part of the judging panel said: “Islands Insurance Group is proud of its charitable partnership with the JSPCA and is delighted to sponsor the inaugural Animal Moments Calendar Competition. I have to say that we found judging really difficult, due to the huge response and the extraordinary variety of images submitted. We tried to choose photos people will enjoy looking at and hope it generates much needed funds to support the fantastic work of the JSPCA for the people and pets of Jersey.”
