Walkers’ Senior Associate Helena Lavin has been called to the Bar as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey.
Helena, who works in the firm’s Insolvency & Dispute Resolution Practice Group, was sworn in last Monday.
She has been working in Guernsey since 2013 and is a commercial litigator specialising in contentious insolvency and corporate disputes, acting for international and local clients on complex cross-border insolvency matters.
Prior to moving offshore, Helena worked in England, Dubai and Oman.
Partner Alison Ozanne, who leads Walkers’ Guernsey Insolvency & Dispute Resolution Practice Group, and who was Helena’s pupil master through the process, said: “Being called to the Guernsey Bar is a major accomplishment that demands commitment, dedication, a lot of hard work and skill.
“We are all delighted by Helena’s achievement, especially as she has undergone the rigorous qualification process during the restrictions enforced by the Global Pandemic.”
Helena (pictured) said: “I am very pleased to become an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey. This is a key milestone for any Guernsey disputes lawyer, and I would like to thank Alison, Sarah, Adam and the wider Walkers team for their support and encouragement. Now I am looking forward to getting into Court.”
