Voisins names Jersey Hospice Care as Charity of the Year

Voisins Department Store has announced that Jersey Hospice Care will be its official Charity of the Year, kicking off a year-long partnership to raise funds for the island’s only specialist palliative care provider.

The partnership puts Jersey Hospice Care at the heart of Voisins’ community fundraising, with customers able to support the cause every time they shop through the store’s Pennies initiative. By simply saying “yes” at the till, an extra 25p is added to their purchase, proving that small change really can make a big difference.

Alongside Pennies, the partnership will see Voisins colleagues and customers take part in a calendar of events and fundraising activities designed to raise money and awareness throughout the year. From in-store initiatives to community challenges, these efforts will help Jersey Hospice Care continue to deliver expert care and support to patients and families across the island.

Liam Harford, Store Director at Voisins, said: “At Voisins, we’re proud to play our part in supporting Jersey Hospice Care, an organisation that touches so many lives in our community. Our customers and colleagues have always shown incredible generosity, and with Pennies and a calendar of fundraising events, we’re excited to see how together we can make a real difference over the next year.”

Another highlight of the collaboration will be the return of the Jersey Hospice Care Christmas Lottery to Voisins. From 20th October until 10th December, tickets will be available to purchase in-store at a designated table, giving shoppers the chance to support Hospice while being in with the opportunity to win some great cash prizes in time for Christmas.

Voisins and Jersey Hospice Care have also teamed up to give shoppers even more ways to show their support. A selection of Voisins’ stock – all brand new with tags – is now available to buy in Jersey Hospice Care’s three shops in St Helier, St Ouen, and at Holme Grown in Grouville. This collaboration not only helps to raise additional funds but also champions sustainable fashion, offering customers the chance to pick up high-quality pieces at affordable prices.

Cheri Strudwick, Director of Income Generation & Marketing at Jersey Hospice Care said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Voisins for the year ahead, not only through the Pennies initiative, but in various other exciting ways, making it a real partnership with purpose. Every penny raised helps us to deliver outstanding palliative care and support to islanders and their loved ones – all of which is provided free of charge. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our community.”
