The staff of Utmost Worldwide, a life insurance company based in Guernsey and part of the Utmost Group, have donated £12,000 to three local charities in Guernsey in 2019. The money was raised through the staff’s own fundraising activities throughout the year, with donations being matched by Utmost Worldwide. A further £1,000 was donated to the Hurricane Dorian relief fund in the Bahamas.
The majority of the funds, around £10,000, were donated to Utmost Worldwide’s nominated charity for 2019, Ernie’s Angels. Ernie’s Angels is a Guernsey-based charity that provides financial support to families with children who require palliative care.
During the year, Utmost Worldwide also made donations to Animal Aid and Paws for Support, two local charities.
In August and September 2019, Hurricane Dorian caused horrific damage to the Bahamas, where Utmost Worldwide has two offices. The staff of Utmost Worldwide donated c £1,000 to the relief fund. The relief fund has supported those impacted by the natural disaster in the form of emergency supplies such as food, water and medicine.

“2019 was an excellent year for fundraising. Fundraising is part of our company initiative “By the staff, from the staff”, which is a part of our broader Corporate Social Responsibility programme. The staff really went above and beyond any expectations for these worthwhile charities.”
