La Mare Wine Estate is celebrating this week after winning two international awards.
They have been awarded a silver medal in the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) for their Branchage Prestige Sparkling Dry Méthode Traditionnelle Fine Cider; and they were also awarded a bronze medal for their Jersey Branchage Cider.
These awards were announced just one week after the Jersey Wine Estate received a bronze medal for their Bailiwick red wine.
Crafted from a blend of traditional cider apples, including rare heritage Jersey varieties grown at the Estate, both ciders capture the essence of the island’s orchards and highlight the diversity of local produce.
The new approach to wine and cider making has been led by Jordi Sanvicens Moreno, Head Winemaker and Andrew Smith, Vineyard Manager.
Mr. Sanvicens Moreno praised the ciders as: “A genuine tribute to our terroir and the meticulous craftsmanship of La Mare Wine Estate.”
Mr. Smith commented on the Estate’s holistic approach, noting: “Every step, from planting to bottling, takes place right here, this means that we can ensure meticulous control over the quality of our products at every stage of the process.”
Tim Crowley, Managing Director, expressed his immense pride in Jordi, Andrew, and the entire team for their outstanding achievements. He emphasised the significance of the IWSC recognition, stating that it significantly elevates La Mare Wine Estate’s profile as a reputable artisan producer on the global stage.
