Fairway Group’s Justine Wilkinson spent six days at an altitude of up to 4,600 metres on the world famous Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu.
This week she visited the JSPCA at their St Helier headquarters to formally hand over £1,072.19 to new CEO Debra D’Orleans.
Justine, who recently adopted her own cat Rosie from the charity, took on the climb in deepest, darkest Peru to support the JSPCA who were picked as Charity of the Year for 2019 by Fairway Group and accountancy firm Bracken Rothwell.
In 2017 she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and is now exploring new opportunities to volunteer her time for other charitable causes.
“While I was in Peru, I spoke to people from all over the world who had such amazing tales so I’m already thinking what I could do next,” she said. “I’ve now done bucket list adventures on two continents so perhaps next time it will Europe, Asia or even Antarctica!”
