The Citywealth Powerwomen Awards International took place on 6th March, just a few days ahead of International Women’s Day, at the private members club 12 Hay Hill in London’s exclusive Mayfair district.

Created over fourteen years ago by Karen Jones, multi award-winning CEO and founder of Citywealth, the event highlights the achievements of individuals and companies that promote female leadership and support career progression for women in the wealth sector.

The evening was hosted by the legendary Eve Pollard OBE, a true Powerwoman herself, who is often referred to as the First Lady of Fleet Street because of her long distinguished career in journalism. She paid special tribute to Karen’s remarkable accomplishments, breaking into the world of finance with the creation of Citywealth – an achievement especially difficult for a woman 20 years ago.

One top award, with further three gold, three silver and two bronze awards went to women from the Channel Islands in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

Editor ‘s Choice award

  • Dominique Burnett, trust director at Fairway Group, Jersey

Gold awards

  • Sarah Bartram Lora-Reina , director at financial services company Stonehage Fleming and President of Jersey Association of Trust Companies, Woman of the Year – IFC
  • Rebecca McNulty , partner at law firm Ogier, Champion of the Year
  • Diana Rodriguez, associate at Ogier, Guernsey, Woman of the Year – Rising Star

Silver awards

  • Sheena Huggett , director at VG, Woman of the Year – Leadership
  • Rajah Abusrewil , partner at Walkers, Woman of the Year – IFC
  • Kay McCarthy , the International Stock Exchange Group, Jersey , Woman of the Year Government, Regulatory and Not-for-Profit Organisations

Bronze awards

  • Jill Britton , Director General at Jersey Financial Services Commission, Woman of the Year Government, Regulatory and Not-for-profit Organisations
Victoria Grogan , counsel at Carey Olsen, Woman of the Year IFC

In addition to individual awards, three companies based in the Channel Islands were recognised for their remarkable work in promoting the advancement of women in the work place:

  • Ocorian Best Employer Global Diversity Career Progression GOLD
  • PWC CI – Organisation of the Year Creating Change for Women GOLD
  • Accuro Trust (Jersey) Organisation of the Year Creating Change for Women BRONZE

Winners had been selected from a shortlist of over a hundred candidates drawn up by eleven judges, all prominent figures from the wealth industry. Additional online voting was verified by an independent third party.

Karen Jones, editor and CEO of Citywealth, said of the winners: “Citywealth is delighted to have discovered a thoughtful and self-assured group in our Powerwomen winners and finalists who will prove to be role models for women joining or returning into the wealth management industry. It is a pleasure to support their work and business development with these accolades. Congratulations to all the women and companies who have been recognised in the Powerwomen Awards 2025.”
