Staff at The International Stock Exchange have raised more than £16,000 in support of the Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service.
The organisation was chosen by The International Stock Exchange (TISE) employees as their ‘charity of choice’ for 2022. It is an independent charity offering free and confidential support to victims and witnesses of crime and their family and friends.
Laura Cornelius (pictured), Head of HR at TISE, said: “We are so pleased to have been able to help the Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service by raising this considerable sum for the charity during what for many people has been a difficult economic climate. It is great to see our team come together through various activities and have such a fun time while also raising funds for such a worthy cause.
“I hope that the money raised will be of real benefit to the charity in its work to assist the victims and witnesses of crime in Guernsey.”
The team at TISE organised a series of activities during the year to raise funds for the Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service, including games evenings, raffles, sweepstakes, a sponsored step challenge throughout July, and an afternoon tea for nearly 100 guests hosted at St Pierre Park Hotel.
Jenny Murphy, Manager at Guernsey Victim Support and Witness Service, said: “We are delighted to receive this support from TISE. As an independent charity, which is not part of the police, the criminal justice system or the government, this financial contribution will make a big difference.
“Our aim is to ensure that victims and witnesses have the best possible experience of support on both a practical and emotional level at what can be a very traumatic and challenging time so this help from the staff at TISE is hugely appreciated.”
TISE has also made donations to similar victim support charities in Ireland and Jersey, which are the other jurisdictions where it has staff based.
The staff at TISE have chosen the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation as their charity of choice for 2023, which is the Exchange’s 25th anniversary year.
