All the lane slots are now available to book for corporates, schools and community groups, with the organisers stressing the real winners this year will be the mental health beneficiary charities.
Previous years have seen the Guernsey public turn out in force to register for the iconic Guernsey swimming fundraiser, including all island schools participating in the ‘At Large’ initiative.
John Stuart, Chairman of the Skipton Swimarathon Committee, said: “I believe the event is a success in terms of the overwhelming support it receives each year, and I would encourage anyone who likes having fun splashing around in a pool to take part.
“What we need is to ensure that this then translates into donations for a number of worthy causes, especially our main mental health beneficiaries, Guernsey Mind and the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney. I would encourage everyone to dig deep and spare whatever cash they possibly can to make a real difference to our community and people’s lives.”
The event takes place at Beau Sejour between Wednesday 4th and Sunday 8th October. To book a lane – these are on a ‘first come, first served’ basis – or find out more, visit here.
