The Refinery launches a new website to connect Jersey producers with local customers

Getfresh.je is a new online service designed to help Jersey producers easily trade with existing and new customers. The website has gone live and already proving to be popular, with new suppliers signing up every day.

The Refinery are currently contacting local suppliers of seafood, fish, fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, milk, cheese, cakes, bread, baked goods, preserves, ready meals, pre-cooked meals, fresh boxes and anything that can be collected or delivered in Jersey.

Technical Director, Alaistair Jerrom-Smith confirmed:

“We are now in a period where the online world is playing a crucial part in helping to keep people supplied with goods. The idea for Getfresh.je was something we had been mulling over for a while as there didn’t seem to be one place where a customer could find and order all the beautiful fresh produce that Jersey has to offer.

“So, whilst it is a challenging period for everyone, the current crisis gave us the push needed to get the website up and running as quickly as possible to provide another avenue to more easily source local produce.

“The website is well-suited to smaller suppliers who don’t have the budget or capacity to operate their own online ordering sites, but we are welcoming businesses of any size to join, as long as they are based in Jersey.

“Everyone will benefit from having one central platform to access the full breadth of produce that is available here in Jersey.”

Marketing Director, Rebecca Harrington added:

“We are asking people to bear with us as the website isn’t going to go through the vigorous usage testing processes we would do normally. However, it is 100% secure already and will be ready for customers to start using the website to order produce on 30March 2020. We will continue to develop and improve the functionality and will be welcoming feedback from suppliers and customers.

“All suppliers are committed to ensuring collections and deliveries will meet current government guidelines to support social distancing, so people can feel completely confident about using the website.”
