A special IPA beer has been brewed in celebration of Guernsey Football Club’s first ten years.
‘Lions’ Pride’ is a special blend that has been devised in a three-way partnership between the football team, the Little Big Brew Company and local bank Skipton, and will be launched at the Guernsey Football Club (GFC) ten-year anniversary and awards gala dinner in July.
GFC’s Commercial Director, Nic Legg, said of the beer: “GFC turned ten years old during the pandemic. Unable to mark the occasion at the time, we wanted to ‘raise a glass’ to the many achievements from the last decade.
“Our special ten-year anniversary and awards gala dinner has already sold out, and we cannot wait for everyone to try the new beer. Bottles will be on each table for our guests to try, courtesy of our sponsors Skipton, and I am certain everyone will enjoy it – it was certainly great fun tasting it at development stage!”
Little Big Brew is Guernsey’s craft brewery and was founded in 2020. Their Brew Manager, Dan O’Brien, said: “We are very proud to have brewed Lions’ Pride. It is a light gold colour making it just right for a session IPA. The aroma of the beer (4.8% ABV) is citrusy and tropical with the flavour being slightly sweet and extremely refreshing. The beer is a light easy-drinking IPA perfect for a beer garden session.”
Following the gala night on 16 July, both pump and bottled Lions’ Pride beer will be available throughout the summer at selected island wide outlets.
