Questiony first to qualify for GEIS pilot schemeTech start-up Questiony is one of the first local companies to be awarded certification under the new Guernsey Enterprise Investment Scheme.
The knowledge sharing video platform, featuring world leading academics and industry specialists, aims to reach one million video questions by 2027.
Under the Guernsey Enterprise Investment Scheme (GEIS), the company will now be able to offer tax relief of up to 30% to individuals looking to make an early-stage investment.
Questiony founder Anthony Reynolds (pictured) describes the pilot initiative by the States Economic Development committee as a ‘game-changer’.
He said: “This is a forward-thinking initiative by the States and will be welcomed by those trying to compete against UK companies. Trying to launch a start-up based in Guernsey is incredibly challenging. There are so many disadvantages to being based on-Island.
“We believe Questiony should build and grow here. Our product is based on high quality information from real experts and we aim to be the most trusted media space in the world over the next few years.”
“Sadly, we live in an age of misinformation,” he said. “Questiony looks to bring back the joy in knowledge sharing, valuing real expertise using the latest technologies available.”
The inspiration for the product stemmed from Anthony Reynolds’ own health scare in the early part of the year. He explained: “After the initial diagnosis, I Googled and researched everything I could but literally became more confused. In the end, sitting opposite the consultant at Bulstrode House I found so much reassurance in having my questions answered by a real human expert.
“I know Questiony will appeal to all age-groups. Those that are naturally curious and those who want to know just enough to feel informed.”
