Guernsey’s cultural centre will continue to thrive thanks to a new partnership with Sure as headline sponsor of St James for the next three years.
St James, as a concert venue, is turning 40 this year, and Sure is helping them continue to bring the best entertainment from all over the world to the island, from well-known UK acts to local talent.
The partnership will also support community events like the bike show, dance festival and tattoo expo, and enable St James to give discounted access to people buying tickets early and supporting the venue, ensuring live entertainment remains accessible for all.
A key focus of this collaboration is nurturing the next generation of musicians and performers. St James will continue its mentoring programmes for young people, ensuring they can continue learning creative skills that will benefit their route to employment, and be offered a safe and enjoyable place to socialise after school and on weekends.
Sure’s Acting Chief Commercial Officer Mike Fawkner-Corbett said: ““St James has long been at the heart of Guernsey’s cultural scene, and we’re proud to help continue its legacy of top-tier entertainment and community engagement.
This partnership allows Sure to enhance the live performance experience in this iconic venue while offering exclusive perks for our customers, including priority access and special discounts. We’re excited to help bring unforgettable events to the island and keep the magic of live entertainment alive.”
Director at St James, John Bisson, said: “Music, comedy, and performance hold a special place in the hearts of people in Guernsey. Our partnership with Sure will bring exciting new initiatives for audiences, enhancing their experience and making live entertainment more accessible than ever. This collaboration is invaluable in helping us keep our rich entertainment industry alive, and we’re excited about the possibilities it will unlock for our community.”
