Jersey Development Company is bringing back its programme of free summer events to the St Helier Waterfront for a third year.
The programme, which runs throughout the summer, will include outdoor wellness sessions, lunchtime reading events and the return of the Hola Friday! music evenings at the IFC.
This year’s schedule includes weekly yoga and, for the first time, Pilates sessions at Marina Gardens from June through to September. JDC is also supporting the ‘Big Jersey Read at the Waterfront’ initiative in partnership with Every Child Our Future, with weekly lunchtime reading sessions taking place during July and August.
Meanwhile, the Hola Friday! events will return to the IFC for eight weeks over the summer, featuring local DJs, food and refreshments, alongside a special extended event at the end of July.
JDC said the events form part of its wider placemaking strategy, aimed at encouraging greater use of public spaces and creating opportunities for Islanders to socialise and spend time outdoors.
Lee Henry, CEO of JDC, said: “We are delighted to bring these events back for a third year and to continue building on the fantastic community response we’ve seen since launching the programme. The outdoor areas of the Waterfront are becoming a real destination for Islanders and visitors during the summer months, whether people are looking to relax, enjoy wellness activities, meet friends after work, or simply spend time enjoying the outdoors.
“This year’s expanded programme, including the addition of Pilates and our support for the Big Jersey Read initiative, reflects our ongoing commitment to creating vibrant public spaces that contribute positively to island life and wellbeing.”
