In celebration of the 25th Saffery Rotary Walk and 100 years of Rotary in Guernsey, islanders are being encouraged to share any tips, photos or stories they have about the Walk from past years.
The annual Saffery Rotary Walk will take place on Saturday 10th June 2023.
Whether you are a part of the walker alumni or a previous volunteer, the Saffery Rotary Walk wants to hear all about your favourite memories. Kind words of encouragement to motivate this year’s walkers, or stories that encapsulate what the Walk is all about are both equally welcomed.
Lisa Vizia, Director of Saffery Champness, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the scenic coastal views of Guernsey and the enthusiasm and camaraderie between participants of the Walk. So many contribute to the success of the Walk every year and so it is important to commemorate the commitment that is shown across the island year upon year.
“We hope that by others sharing their past experiences or any advice that can benefit future walkers, we will see a record number of entries for the Walk this year.”
Simon Milsted, the chair of Saffery Rotary Walk’s organising team said: “Having been involved in the Walk for many years now, I have seen first-hand the care walkers have for one another and the real impact the mutual encouragement can have in motivating walkers to fully prepare for the challenge in June.
“By sharing stories, words of motivation, or training tips, you can help to encourage both old and new walkers to be part of this epic event and to help raise money for so many worthwhile charities island-wide.”
Please send your tips, photos and stories via email.
