With less than a month left to apply, the Isle of Man’s first-ever FinTech Innovation Challenge, supported by Deloitte, is open for applications until 28th February.

As part of its ambitious new economic strategy, the Isle of Man Government is inviting innovative FinTech businesses, or collaborations of companies, to develop and launch their products on the Island.

The competition allows companies to develop new products, scale up existing solutions or test access to new markets. Applications are also open to businesses who are able to add some new innovative element to products that are already in their portfolio.

The FinTech Innovation Challenge is at the heart of the Isle of Man’s ambition for a digital future and will be a key pillar of the Island’s FinTech growth in the coming year.

The Isle of Man’s regulator and government agencies stand ready to provide developing FinTech’s with a platform from which to launch innovative solutions to some of the key challenges facing modern businesses, and to play their part in building the future of this unique island.

Deloitte, who have worked across global technology ecosystems, particularly in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, identifies that the Isle of Man has all the hallmarks to be successful in scaling and growing the FinTech cluster to be amongst the best in the world.

Interested parties can support the Challenge in one of the following roles:

  • Challenge participant
  • Challenge judge
  • Challenge supporter
  • Challenge audience

The Challenge is designed to be globally inclusive and attract international interest. Collaborations between local and international organisations are also very much welcome. We would encourage applicants to visit the Island during the initial mentor matching event, which also introduces the local ecosystem. This will enable applicants to take full advantage of access to the Isle of Man marketplace.

Attendance is also encouraged at the final demo presentation event. However, facilities will be provided to include participants who cannot attend in person. There is no obligation for participants to re-locate to the Isle of Man, the Challenge is rather an opportunity to explore the potential benefits of what the islands supportive FinTech ecosystem has to offer.

The FinTech Innovation Challenge is a collaboration between Digital Isle of Man, Finance Isle of Man, and supported by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority and Deloitte.

Applications for participants will close on 28th February 2023. More information can be found here.
