The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Jersey Branch has hosted its 2023 Student Awards at a sumptuous afternoon tea ceremony.
This special event celebrated the exceptional achievements of local branch winners and provided a fantastic opportunity for professionals to network, celebrate, and support the accomplishments of their peers in the trust industry.
The ceremony, which took place at the Royal Yacht Hotel, saw an impressive turnout of industry professionals, students, and sponsors, all gathered to honour the hard work and dedication of the top scoring Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Jersey Branch students from 2023.
This year’s awards recognised the achievements of four outstanding students in six categories of trust and estate administration:
- Sam Hilton was awarded the top score for the Certificate in International Trust Management, sponsored by RBC Wealth Management.
- Laura Nevitt received an award for the Advanced Certificate in Trusts Law and Practice (International), with Dickinson Gleeson as the sponsor.
- Harry Sutton achieved the highest score in the Advanced Certificate in Principles of International Tax, AML and Compliance, thanks to Rawlinson & Hunter Jersey’s sponsorship.
- Harry Sutton also received the award for the Advanced Certificate in Trustees’ Duties and Management of the Trust Fund, sponsored by MPI.
- Anthony Cope achieved the highest score in the Advanced Certificate in Company Law and Practice, sponsored by Walkers.
- Anthony Cope also achieved the highest overall score in the Diploma in International Trust Management, with LGT Wealth Management as the sponsor.
The success of the event and the achievements it celebrated could not have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors. Their dedication to fostering excellence in trust administration studies plays a vital role in the development of the industry.
Stephen Alexander, Chair of the STEP Jersey Branch, congratulated the award recipients, remarking: “Congratulations to our 2023 Award Winners on their accomplishments. Our students’ dedication continues to be impressively strong, as evidenced again this year and this reflects the dedication and effort they put into their STEP professional exams. We are extremely thankful to the sponsors of these awards who enabled us to recognise the award winners in this way, and to the employers of our students for their invaluable support and recognition of the importance of these qualifications.”
