Standard Chartered Private Bank in Jersey has made two senior appoints with nearly half a century of industry experience between them.

Philip Harvey joins the Wealth Intermediaries team as executive director.

He has more than 30 years’ experience in the banking industry and will be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with professional intermediaries, both on and off island.

Philip joins from Deutsche Bank International where he was team head of financial intermediaries for Jersey. Prior to that he spent 12 years at ABN AMRO Bank, progressing from senior Relationship Manager to Commercial Head of Private Banking.

Also joining the Wealth Intermediaries team is Kenny Sillars who has been appointed associate director.

Kenny has more than 18 years’ experience in the finance industry, having worked with RSBI and Barclays in Corporate Banking, before moving into the Fiduciary team.

Adam Buxton, Head of Wealth Intermediaries, Standard Chartered Private Bank, Jersey, said: “We are delighted to welcome Phil and Kenny. The experience they bring will benefit clients and the team immensely as we continue to make significant investments in platform, products and people in line with growing demand from clients.”

“Whilst much of the local banking sector are reigning back in some markets, our unrivalled network and 160 years’ experience in Asia, Africa and the Middle East makes us the first choice for clients wanting to invest or diversify into these fast-growing markets.

Philip said: “Standard Chartered’s commitment to the Channel Islands and footprint in the emerging markets makes it an exciting company to be a part of. I’m looking forward to engaging with the professional intermediary sector and bringing the Bank’s breadth of investment and advisory capabilities to clients.”
