Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey has announced a new three-year partnership with Standard Bank Offshore to be sole partner of the charity’s annual Rowathon event.
The Rowathon, which sees teams of six row the equivalent distance from Jersey to Sark (30,000m) on indoor rowing machines, has become a staple in Jersey’s fundraising calendar. Each year, corporate and community teams come together in a fun, competitive, and high-energy atmosphere, raising vital funds to support islanders affected by cancer.
This partnership marks the start of a new era for the Rowathon, with Standard Bank Offshore’s support enabling Macmillan Jersey to expand, innovate, and grow the event over the next three years.
Kevin Alway, Operations and Communications Lead for Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey, said: “We are sincerely grateful that Standard Bank Offshore is supporting this fundraising staple of ours. The Rowathon continues to ‘pull our community together’ through its fun, engaging and competitive format, and with Standard Bank Offshore’s commitment we can invest more resources into making the next three years the most exciting, innovative and impactful Rowathons yet.”
Charles Molteno, Chief Executive and Island Head, Jersey, Standard Bank Offshore said: “At Standard Bank Offshore, we are proud to partner with Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey given the awesome work they do in ensuring that islanders affected by cancer receive the vital care and support they need.
