Standard Bank has announced that two of its international fiduciary services executives have been recognised at this year’s Citywealth Powerwomen Awards for their exceptional leadership and commitment to promoting gender equality in the workplace.

Mokshda Beeharry (pictured), Head of Client Services, won silver in the ‘Women of the Year – Leadership (Director)’ category, while Beatrice Fok Chow, Head of Client Experience, won bronze in the ‘Women of the Year – Leadership (Managing Director)’ category.

Now in its twelfth year, the prestigious awards program celebrates women who have made significant contributions to their industry while promoting and supporting other women. This year’s winners were announced at a gala event in London on 1 March 2023, and Standard Bank was delighted to have two of its trust executives among the award recipients.

Mokshda, a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), has been with Standard Bank for over 20 years and has become an integral member of the trust team.

“I am thrilled to receive this award that recognises not only my professional achievements but also my commitment to empowering and supporting other women in leadership,” said Mokshda.

“I believe that empowering other women to succeed is crucial in creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. It’s through initiatives like the Powerwomen Awards that we can shine a light on these crucial issues and inspire more women to pursue leadership roles.”

Beatrice Fok Chow

Beatrice is a STEP member and an Associate of the UK Chartered Governance Institute. She joined Standard Bank over 20 years ago and quickly rose through the ranks of the organisation, fulfilling a director role since 2006 already.

Beatrice commented: “I am humbled to work for an organisation that actively prioritises equality and supports women in leadership roles. Receiving this award is a great honour, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone who values diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. This recognition is not just about me, but about the collective efforts of my team and colleagues who work tirelessly to make a difference. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my colleagues and clients for their unwavering support, which has been an integral part of my success.”

Jonathan Sprigg, Head of Fiduciary Services, expressed his pride in this recognition: ‘We are incredibly proud of Beatrice and Mokshda for their outstanding leadership skills and dedication to making a positive impact in their respective roles. This recognition of their achievements is a testament to their hard work and commitment, and we congratulate them on this well-deserved honour.”

The Powerwomen Awards continue to be an important platform for highlighting the contributions of women in leadership and promoting gender equality in the workplace. Standard Bank is proud to be part of this initiative and looks forward to continuing to support and empower women in leadership.
