To celebrate the start of Spring, Jersey charity Tiny Seeds is inviting the community to take part in a six-week fundraising challenge, raising awareness and support for the 1 in 6 people who face difficulties in bringing home a baby.

Since its founding, Tiny Seeds has worked tirelessly to raise awareness, provide crucial support, and advocate for those navigating fertility challenges. This March, the charity is encouraging individuals and businesses to join them in amplifying their message and showing solidarity with the many people on this journey.

The idea is simple, register to take part and then complete at least 1 of the 6 challenges below and show your support for the 1 in 6 people who struggle to bring home a baby. Your chosen challenge(s) can be completed all in one go, or split down into smaller sessions over six weeks.

  1. Swim challenge – Swim 60 lengths. Track your laps and share your progress.
  2. Cycle challenge – Cycle 60km on your favourite route around Jersey.
  3. Walk challenge – Walk a total of 16km. Enjoy the scenery and document your journey.
  4. Run challenge – Run 16km. Record your time to beat your personal best.
  5. Bake sale challenge – Host bake sale and aim to sell at least six different baked goods. Get creative with the 1-in-6 theme!
  6. Spring clean challenge – Do a spring clean and sell 6 items to raise funds for Tiny Seeds.

Tiny Seeds will be organising additional opportunities for the community to get involved including yoga with Lisa McCabe, Owner of OmShanti Yoga Living at Trinity Parish Hall on Saturday 29th March at 11.00-12.00 and Circuit Classes at Funktion Fitness on Friday 21st March and Friday 11th April at 14.00-14.45.

Chloe Fosse (pictured), Founder of Tiny Seeds and Charity Governor, said: “With 1-in-6 people facing fertility struggles, someone you know will be going through them right now. By joining our 1 in 6 Challenge this Spring you will be helping Tiny Seeds to continue to provide vital support services, including our much relied upon IVF Travel Grants for those who fall outside of Government funding for IVF.

“We would be delighted to see the public get behind us with as many people as possible signing up. We cannot take away the pain, but we can help ease the burden for the 1 in 6 people who are struggling to bring home a baby.”
