Two of Jersey’s creative companies are squaring off for a good cause this October.
The Snap vs Signtech Showdown is a friendly, but fiercely competitive, multi-sport series designed to raise funds and awareness for Dementia Jersey while celebrating the island’s brilliant sports and leisure community.
Born from their teams’ work supporting Dementia Jersey’s recent Boost Your Brain campaign, the Showdown puts prevention and community front and centre. Across the month, Team Snap (orange) and Team Signtech (blue) will compete in a series of challenges that blend physical, mental and social activities, spotlighting local venues along the way.
“This is about showing up for our community. We’re proud to stand with Dementia Jersey and turn a month of friendly competition into awareness and support for a great cause,” said Tom Le Sueur, CEO at Snap.
“If this series encourages people to move more, connect with others and support an essential local charity, we’ve done our job,” said Tim de Gruchy, Managing Director at Signtech.
Dementia prevention thrives on everyday habits. The Showdown is a way of bringing those habits to life, mapped directly to the Boost Your Brain campaign’s prevention pillars:
- Love your heart (physical activities)
- Stay sharp (mental challenges)
- Keep connected (social engagement)
Every challenge taken on connects to one or more of these pillars, turning evidence-based guidance into engaging, shareable moments the whole island can get behind.
Activities across the series include: Five-a-side Football, Table Tennis, Padel Tennis, Racketball, Chess, Softball, Pétanque, Netball, Pool and Darts.
All month, they will be fundraising via a joint JustGiving campaign, with company contributions and public donations encouraged.
