Carey Olsen has made three senior promotions in its Jersey office. The appointments see Will Whitehead (pictured) and Louise Woolrich become counsel and Arindam Madhuryya made a senior associate.
All three have already taken up their new roles at the firm.
Will, who was sworn in as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in December following the successful completion of the Jersey bar examinations, is a member of Carey Olsen’s property practice. He joined Carey Olsen in 2005 and specialises in commercial property transactions and regulatory matters, regularly advising on commercial real estate acquisitions and disposals (both freehold and leasehold), infrastructure, construction and development projects, and local property financing transactions for commercial and residential properties.
Louise joined Carey Olsen in 2011 and is a member of the dispute resolution and litigation team in Jersey. She is an experienced advocate and trust litigator, representing clients in contentious and semi contentious trust matters. She has also acted in corporate and fund disputes, and regularly advises clients on notices received under tax information exchange agreements (TIEAs). Louise has authored articles for legal journals and regularly speaks in Jersey and overseas on developments in Jersey trust law. Louise was named as ‘One to Watch’ in the 2018 and 2019 Private Client Global Elite directories.
Arindam joined Carey Olsen in 2014 and is a member of the investment funds and corporate team, specialising in advising on investment funds matters. Arindam also supports clients on corporate real estate and banking matters. He advises funds, fund managers, corporates and other financial institutions on all aspects of establishment, regulation and operation in Jersey. In particular, Arindam has advised on several high profile fund formation matters, and regularly advises fund managers and corporates on co-investments, portfolio acquisitions, corporate reorganisations (including migrations and mergers) and financing matters.
Carey Olsen group managing partner, Alex Ohlsson, said: “Developing and rewarding talent has always been a key part of Carey Olsen’s strategy and I’m delighted to be able to congratulate Will, Louise and Arindam on their hard work and dedication and respective professional milestones.”
