EY has made a number of senior promotions within its assurance and tax teams across the Channel Islands.
Jon Atkey-Smith has been promoted to director, Lauren Wright and Max Ellis to manager within the assurance team, and Sonia Brahmi and Kathryn Hardman have been promoted to manager within the tax team.
Jon joined EY seven years ago and has more than a decade of audit and advisory experience within the wealth & asset management sector. He is one of the few Chartered Financial Analyst charterholders in the Channel Islands working in audit and advisory, allowing him to provide exceptional insight into the asset management industry, including investment valuations.
Lauren joined the Jersey office over three years ago, having gained experienced working in South Africa and America. As an integral part of the Financial Accounting Advisory Services team in the Channel Islands, she has supported clients from a cross sector of financial services clients with significant IFRS and UK GAAP conversions projects. In her new role, amongst other financial reporting projects, she is providing guidance on the new standards including IFRS 9, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
Max joined EY as a school leaver and has been with the firm over seven years. He focuses on private equity and trust structures and has extensive experience of listed and unlisted funds in both onshore and offshore jurisdictions. Max has also seized EY’s secondment opportunities, spending time in London, gaining further experience within the wealth & asset management sector.
Sonia is part of EY’s tax transparency team. She has a wealth of experience advising funds, banks and trust companies on applying international frameworks of exchange of information, including the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
Kathryn is experienced in providing Jersey and UK corporate tax compliance and advisory services, as well as international tax matters such as Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) and Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO).
