Renewable petrol and renewable diesel will be used during this year’s Jersey International Motoring Festival as organisers continue efforts to reduce the event’s environmental impact.

Rubis Channel Islands will offer its SUSTAIN 80 renewable petrol at a discounted price during the festival, while Renewable Diesel (RD100) will be used to power event generators.

Available from Rubis’ First Tower forecourt, SUSTAIN 80 is a fuel made from 80% renewable content and 20% conventional fuel. Produced using agricultural waste materials, including straw and non-consumable crop by-products, it is suitable for petrol-powered vehicles, including classic and performance cars.

During the festival period, SUSTAIN 80 will be available at a promotional price of £3.99 per litre, reduced from its usual retail price of around £5.99 per litre.

Jamie Langlois, owner of a 4.3L Petterson Bentley Recreation of 29, said: “Using a fuel that balances performance with sustainability is vital to me. SUSTAIN 80 empowers me to minimise my environmental footprint without sacrificing the driving experience. Rubis has truly set a global standard by providing this innovative fuel option to motorists, leading the way both locally and internationally.”

Robert Surcouf, Jersey International Motoring Festival Organiser, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Rubis Channel Islands for supporting the festival and helping us take another greener step forward. Continuing to make renewable petrol available for competitors and the wider public is a fantastic way to demonstrate how partnerships with forward-thinking companies like Rubis can help make the event cleaner and more sustainable year after year.”

Anguel Anguelov, Managing Director at Rubis Channel Islands, added: “Rubis Channel Islands has always been committed to bringing innovative energy solutions to the islands and supporting the Channel Islands in becoming greener year on year. We were proud to launch Renewable Diesel RD100 in 2019, renewable heating oil in 2021 and Rubis Solar PV in 2022, all important milestones in helping our communities transition towards more sustainable energy use.

“The continued availability of SUSTAIN 80 is another important step in that journey, providing motorists with a practical lower-carbon fuel alternative that delivers both performance and compatibility without compromise
