The Royal Jersey Agricultural & Horticultural Society are once again encouraging Primary Schools and Nurseries to enter their summer garden competition.
This year, the team at Andrew Le Maistre Landscapes have offered to support any schools involved in the competition, who feel they need guidance, soil or manpower in getting started.
Last month, nursery children at Plat Douet School were delighted when a truck load of soil arrived, and they helped to fill their rejuvenated mud kitchen area and created a new wild flower garden.
Tim Le Feuvre from Andrew Le Maistre Landscapes said: “We are delighted to help school children develop the love of gardening, in any way we can. It was wonderful to see the children at Plat Douet School getting stuck in and helping to shift the soil! We wish them the very best of luck with the RJA&HS Schools Garden Competition.”
The Competition is kindly sponsored by Le Quesne’s Nursery each year, and every school that enters this year, will receive a voucher for Le Quesne’s Nursery. There are also prize shields up for grabs too! Garden areas can be any type or size and can include flowers, herbs, fruit, vegetables and wild flower areas.
