Parslows has advised SunWorks (C.I.) Ltd on its Framework Agreement with Jersey Electricity for the supply of solar photovoltaic (PV) equipment for the development and implementation of commercial scale solar PV installations in Jersey.
The first development site is at Woodside Farm which is nearing completion. Jersey Dairy have also granted a 25-year lease to Jersey Electricity to operate solar panels on the Jersey Dairy roof, potentially generating half a million units of electricity a year.
This will be the largest solar panel array in the Channel Islands, with the potential to generate enough power for almost 70 homes a year and could signify the start of a wave of utility scale solar installations in Jersey.
David Hill, Parslows lead on the transaction said: “I was delighted to advise SunWorks on this ground breaking collaboration with Jersey Electricity and look forward to being able to continue to support Jersey’s renewable energy industry moving forward”.
Mark Brandon, Director of SunWorks said: “Jersey Electricity’s involvement in local commercial solar generation is a big step and we were very grateful to David Hill of Parslows for his thoroughness and advice on the deal”.
