Oxygen Therapy Jersey is now running on sunshine after a brand new £10,000 solar panel system was successfully installed at its centre, courtesy of SunWorks’ 2025 Solar Giveaway.
The project, completed last week in just two days thanks to the teams ‘all hands on deck’ approach, will help the charity significantly reduce its energy bills and environmental footprint, allowing more of its resources to be channelled directly into supporting islanders with a wide range of health needs.
Mark Brandon, Co-Owner and Managing Director at SunWorks said: “By installing this system, we’re helping Oxygen Therapy Jersey future-proof its running costs while also cutting carbon emissions. It’s fantastic to see renewable energy directly benefiting a charity that makes such a difference to people’s lives.”
“We are absolutely delighted with this installation,” said Collette Bagas, Centre Manager at Oxygen Therapy Jersey. “At the heart of our plans, the Oxygen Therapy Centre is firmly committed to its sustainability and that of the environment by transitioning to renewable energy. Winning the SunWorks 2025 Solar Giveaway will provide an important boost to reducing the carbon footprint of the organisation through the provision of a state-of-the-art solar installation. This will ensure that more of our resources are available to deliver care directly to our clients by cutting down on our monthly electricity operating costs.
“We are most grateful to the large number of people who voted for us and the confidence that SunWorks have placed on us by awarding us this prize. The SunWorks prize will also help us ensure that every donation and every resource is directed toward improving care for our clients. We also plan to expand the availability of our services, reaching even more individuals who could benefit from oxygen therapy. In doing so, we hope to strengthen our role as a trusted resource in Jersey’s healthcare landscape. Looking forward, our vision is growth, sustainability, and continued service to the island community.”
