A Guernsey finance worker has received the highest mark in the island for an International Trust Management qualification.
Registered Fiduciaries trust administrator Simon Ricketts, who works at Saffery Champness, more than made the grade with his STEP certificate exam.
The globally recognised qualification is designed for those who have some experience in the industry and want to develop their knowledge further.
The six-month course provides a solid grounding in international trust practice from a global and local perspective covering topics such as international trust vehicles, legal structures, principles and practices underpinning the profession followed by a three-hour exam.
Simon said: “I was very surprised and happy to find out that I’d achieved the highest mark in the STEP certificate and feel privileged to have the opportunity to achieve professional qualifications with Saffery Champness.”
He joined the company three years ago and is currently responsible for the day to day administration of trusts and underlying companies in the firm’s Russian UHNW team. He is now working towards the STEP diploma in International Trust Management.
Saffery Champness MD in Guernsey, Nick Batiste, said: “We encourage all of our employees to study towards and gain qualifications in all areas of the business and are very proud of Simon’s achievement. This qualification covers a wide range of topics that will help Simon in his current role and we look forward to seeing him develop his career with the firm.”
